Although well known as the Peach Capital of Colorado, the Palisade area also produces an exceptional selection of apples, apricots, cherries, pears and plums. Fresh fruit and produce, as well as packaged fruit products, are abundant at roadside stands and orchards throughout the area.
Agri-tours
Palisade’s agricultural businesses offer a great opportunity to learn firsthand how fruit, wine and farm products are grown from the ground up, then prepared and sent to market. Each of these businesses provides a unique experience including organic orchards, community supported agriculture, packaged fruit products, fruit stands, large commercial orchards, alpacas, vineyards brimming with grapes, and recreational and guided tours.
Palisade has the state’s greatest concentration of orchards and wineries. Indoor tours of wineries, distilleries and brewery operations capture the craftsmanship of beverage-making. In addition, you can learn about lavender uses, milling alpaca wool, or packing ripe peaches.
Take your pick of tours: eight orchards and farms, six vineyards and wineries, Palisade Brewery or Peach Street Distillers. Each tour provides a unique experience including organic orchards, community supported agriculture (CSA’s), packaged fruit products, fruit stands, large commercial orchards and vineyards brimming with an assortment of grapes.
